Veteran Ghanaian songstress Mzbel has recently revealed in an interview that she played a pivotal role in empowering female artists in Ghana to embrace more daring fashion choices.

Reflecting on her early years in the industry, Mzbel explained that she wasn’t initially aware of the “rules” regarding what to wear. However, her bold and often controversial style became a talking point when she first entered the entertainment scene.

“I get hurt when I don’t get credited for my impact in the industry,” Mzbel shared. “Because of me, female artists are now more confident performing on stage in outfits they choose. They no longer feel the need to wear kaba and slit just to perform.”

She also spoke about her admiration for the late Ebony Reigns, stating that she saw the young star as a reflection of her own journey in the industry.
